The game turns into a sprint

Our team event at Your Showdown in Berlin initially felt like a classic competition: short games, quick decisions, and immediate feedback.
But that was precisely the point. What at first glance seemed like a competition turned out to be something else entirely: a learning system.
Because each round was essentially a mini-sprint: we try things out, fail, and adapt. The next round gives us a direct chance to do better.
As a Scrum team, we’re familiar with this approach: It’s not about winning, but about learning together and getting better.
That’s exactly what happens automatically when you play: learning takes place when feedback is immediate and can be applied right away. And in a game, this happens intuitively and often much faster than in everyday Scrum work 😉
Our conclusion: Game-based formats shorten learning cycles.
Because they enable what really matters: rapid inspect and adapt.”
